#EndSARS : Lagos shutdown schools indefinitely

 The Lagos State Government has shutdown all schools in the state until further notice over tension arising from the ongoing #EndSARS protest. The Commissioner for Education, Folasade Adeisayo, issued the directive on Monday, stating that the safety of the pupils and students, parents and all staff working in schools is of immense importance at this critical period. She, however, advised parents to keep an eye on their wards and not allow them to be used as willing tools in the hands of those who might want to hijack the protests to unleash mayhem on the society. The commissioner also encouraged schools to utilize other means of distance teaching and learning i.e radio, television and online media as they have been doing during and post the recent COVID-19 lockdown. Adefisayo stated that a new date of resumption for all classes will be announced as soon as possible.

Rivers State Governor ban all forms of #EndSARS protest in the state.

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, has issued a directive, banning all form of #EndSARS protests in the state. According to the statement communicated through the Commissioner of Information, the River State Government, said that there is no need to protests against a non-existent unit of the Police Force, citing the recent declaration made by the F.G. on SARS. — Gov N E Wike Information. (@GovWike) October 12, 2020 Nigerians all over the word are calling for the outright scrapping of SARS, end to police brutality and a total reform of the Nigeria Police Force. The protest has attracted important agencies as well as celebrities all over the world.

The NCDC announced that 587 new cases of the virus were recorded across different states in the country, with Lagos recording the highest number. Six Million dollars fraud, 6 high profile Nigerians indicted by the United States Government.

The United States Government has today Tuesday June 16, filed indictments against six high profile Nigerians for conducting an elaborate scheme to steal over six million dollars from victims across the United States. Richard Uzuh, Micheal Olorunyomi, Alex Ogunshakin, Felix okpoh, Nnamdi Benson and Abiola Kayode are all found wanting for cybercrimes, in which their victims were defrauded of more than $6 million dollars via BEC fraud scheme and Romance fraud scheme, following Investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). As a result of their indictments, all property and interests in property of the aforementioned individuals that are in the possession or control of U.S. persons or within or transiting the United States are blocked, and U.S. persons are generally prohibited from dealing with them.

The new cases now means that Nigeria has recorded over 14,000 cases of the deadly virus, with fatalities nearing 400. The NCDC in a tweet confirmed that the new cases were recorded across different states in the country. 69 killed in recent Boko Haram attack in Borno.

No fewer than 69 people lost their lives and a village razed to the ground as Boko Haram gunmen attack the village of Faduma Koloram, in Gubio local government area of Borno State on Tuesday June 9, according to Reuters . The men arrived in vehicles and motorcycles, shooting sporadically with AK-47s, razing the village and stealing 1,200 cattle and camels. According to accounts by a resident, a Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) member and a soldier, the men attacked because they suspected residents of sharing information on Boko Haram's movement with security authorities. "It's an unfortunate day for us to witness this," said CJTF fighter Kachallah Bumu. Residents has always repelled previous attack by the terrorist group, but this one caught them off guard. "They took us unaware and killed our people," he said. Boko Haram and its offshoot, Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), have killed and displaced millions in northeastern Nigeria.
