118 new cases of coronavirus reported in Nigeria.

Nigeria reported 118 new cases of covid-19 on Monday October 19, according the data released by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control, NCDC. Nigeria has now recorded a total of 61,558 cases of the virus, 56,697 recoveries and 1,125 deaths. State by State breakdown of the new cases are as follows; Lagos-51 Rivers-26 Imo-12 Osun-8 Plateau-6 FCT-5  Kaduna-4 Ogun-3 Edo-2 Niger-1

Cristiano Ronaldo tests positive for coronavirus.

 Juventus star, Cristiano Ronaldo, has tested positive for the novel coronavirus while on international duty for Portugal. The Portuguese skipper, is asymptomatic and is self-isolating as regulations demand. He will play no part in Portugal's clash with Sweden. The Portugal's Football Federation said in a statement: "Cristiano Ronaldo was released from the work of the National Team after a positive test for COVID-19, so he will not face Sweden. "The Portuguese international is doing well, without symptoms, and in isolation. "Following the positive case, the remaining players underwent new tests this Tuesday morning, all with a negative result, and are available to Fernando Santos for training this afternoon, in the City of Football. "The game, counting for the qualification phase of the League of Nations, is scheduled for Wednesday, at 19:45, in Alvalade."

30 million cases of coronavirus confirmed Worldwide.

Confirmed cases of the coronavirus have topped 30 million worldwide, according to figures from Johns Hopkins University. More than half of the total Covid-19 infections have been recorded in just three countries – the US, India and Brazil – according to the US university’s tally. The number increased by 10 million in just over a month; global cases passed 20 million on August 12. The United States leads the country count with at least 6,675,560 reported cases, followed by India with at least 5,214,677 and Brazil at 4,455,386, the numbers showed.

George Floyd had coronavirus - Medical examiner.

George Floyd, the black man killed by a Minnesota police officer had coronavirus, according to an autopsy released on Wednesday. According to NBC News reports, Hennepin County Medical examiner said Mr. Floyd, whose death has sparked worldwide protests, tested positive for COVID-19 on April 3. An earlier autopsy from the County revealed that Mr. Floyd died from "cardiopulmonary arrest complicating law enforcement subdual, restraint, and neck compression." Mr. Floyd died saying "I can't breathe" as policeman knelt on his neck for almost nine minutes.

Basketball Legend Patrick Ewing tests positive for Coronavirus.

Patrick Ewing, Basketball Hall of Famer and Georgetown men's basketball coach revealed on Friday that he has tested positive for the novel coronavirus that causes COVID-19. Ewing, 57, tweeted, " I want to share that I have tested positive for COVID-19. This virus is serious and should not be taken lightly. I want to encourage everyone to stay safe and take care of yourself and your loved ones." Ewing is currently isolated at a hospital, and is the only person in the program to have tested positive, the University disclosed. "I'll be fine and we will all get through this," Ewing said.

339 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Nigeria; over 200 deaths recorded.

The new cases now means that the total cases in the country has now surpassed 7000. Church In Australia Fined $151,200 for selling bleach as coronavirus cure.

An Australian Church has reportedly been fined the sum of $151,200 for selling Chlorine dioxide as a miracle cure. The Genesis II Church of Health and Healing, has for a very long time been selling the Industrial bleach in the name of Miracle Mineral Solution (MMS), claiming that it can cure illnesses such as autism, acne, cancer, diabetes and now Covid-19.  MMS which has not yet been approved for human consumption in Australian is being sold as "water purification drops" on the website of the Australian chapter of the church, MMS Australia. After thorough investigation by 7:30 last week, the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) announced that it had issued 12 infringement notices totaling $151,200 to the MMS Australia for the alleged unlawful advertising of Miracle Mineral Solution and other medicines. Chinese Super League (CSL) team Tianjin Tianhai, which once employed World Cup winner Fabio Cannavaro as coach and signed Brazilian forward Alexandre Pato, have declared bankruptcy and folded, the club announced on Tuesday (May 12). Tianjin, founded in Inner Mongolia as Hohhot Binhai in 2006, have struggled to pay the bills since the arrest and subsequent imprisonment of former owner Shu Yuhui, finishing second bottom of the CSL last year. Shenzhen FC, who were relegated after finishing bottom, have been reprieved and will replace Tianhai in the CSL for the 2020 season, which has been delayed by the coronavirus pandemic. "Given an unsustainable financial situation, the club is no longer able to maintain normal operations," Tianjin said in a statement. Coronavirus antibodies in breast milk may protect Infants.

Breast milk from infected mothers may contain antibodies to the novel coronavirus that could be protective for babies, a study suggests.   "Nursing mothers who are infected with the novel coronavirus should continue to breastfeed throughout their COVID-19 illness and beyond, because (other researchers) have shown transmission does not occur via milk, and we have determined that antibodies are almost certainly there, and may protect their babies from infection," Rebecca Powell of The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, who led the study, told Reuters.  Her team's report, posted on Friday on the preprint server medRxiv, has not yet been peer reviewed or published in a medical journal. - Reuters

Indonesia bracing up for coronavirus; Authorities rush to finish Sebaru island for quarantine.

The  World Dream  crewmen had already tested negative during their quarantine in Hong Kong, but authorities are taking no chances amid concerns over the increasing spread of the novel coronavirus outside China. The uninhabited island, which is part of the Thousand Islands archipelagic regency of Jakarta, will be "home" for 188 Indonesian nationals who arrived on Wednesday afternoon to start their 14 days of observation. Nigerians should be on red alert, Coronavirus somehow has found its way into the country. A man and a woman is currently hospitalized and quarantined in a private hospital in Lagos. Although the Nigerian Government is yet to confirm the case but information had it that a man and woman has tested positive of the novel coronavirus. The man who returned from China after the Chinese New year while the woman is a business woman who frequents China on Business shopping. Nigerians are hereby advised to begin taking precautions.
