Batman urges people to stay in their homes in this coronavirus pandemic.

Image
When Batman issues a warning, you definitely got to listen. Batman has always taken on the challenge of battling  crime , but he's now got a bigger task on his hands. An unidentified man dressed as the Caped Crusader's is spreading awareness of the deadly  coronavirus  in Monterrey, a city in the northeastern Mexican border state Nuevo León. Mexico 's version of Bruce Wayne is driving around in a replica version of the Batmobile, similar to the one that appeared in the Dark Knight trilogy. His message is clear and simple - stay home. 'I alone can't do the job,' he says in a prerecorded message played from his vehicle's speakers. 'Hey, you inside that home, try to come out as little as possible and together we'll be superheroes against the coronavirus.'  The concerned man questioned why families continue to put themselves at risk, especially children, by wandering around the streets of Monterrey despite warnings from health

R. kelly seeks release from prison amid coronavirus pandemic.

Image
R Kelly 's lawyers have filed a motion in the US to see the singer released from prison on bail, after he expressed fears of catching  coronavirus . The singer is currently being held in Chicago’s Metropolitan Correctional Centre without bail as he awaits trial for several sex crime charges. The 53-year-old’s legal team have claimed he is in the high-risk category of people most susceptible to COVID-19, due to his age and existing health issues. His lawyers have claimed sanitiser and soap are scarce in the jail, where most inmates are kept in small cells, shared with at least one other prisoner, making social distancing almost impossible. "The visitor’s bathroom on the entry-level floor of the MCC frequently has no soap or paper towels available, which makes it difficult for individuals entering the facility to adequately clean their hands before visiting,” the motion claims. The document goes on to claim that the jail’s visiting floor has sanitiser, but a sign nex

North Korea using corpses of prisoners to fertilize country's crops.

Image
North Korea  has been using the corpses of political prisoners to fertilise its crops, it is alleged. The gruesome measure is said to have been used across the country, even on mountainous terrain, and led to a bumper crop recently. The claim has been mad by a former prisoner, who survived the hell of Kaechon concentration camp. Using the pseudonym Kim Il-soon, she said: “The lands are very fertilised, and farming is successful there because the buried human bodies serve as natural fertilisers. “Some guards said that they should bury the bodies evenly throughout the land so that it will fertilise the entire area. "They buried people in the mountains. One time, a kid was peeing in the mountains and saw an arm sticking out because they forgot to cover it properly.” Ms Kim made her shocking disclosure to The Committee for Human Rights in North Korea (HRNK) after she escaped to Seoul, South Korea. Backing up her evidence, the committee noted that they’d had no testimony me

Indonesia will bar foreign nationals from transiting through or entering the country, officials announced on Tuesday, as the government steps up efforts to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the country without heeding growing calls for a complete lockdown to contain the pandemic. President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo announced the travel ban, effective soon, during a limited Cabinet meeting to discuss the possible repatriation of Indonesians from overseas and limiting the movement of foreigners into the country. “The President has decided that the current policies needed to be strengthened […], and so it was decided that all visits and transiting by foreign citizens to Indonesia will be temporarily stopped,” Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi told reporters after the Cabinet meeting in Jakarta, a recording of which was circulated to journalists practicing physical distancing measures. Foreigners who hold temporary or permanent stay permits (KITAS or KITAP), as well as diplomats and other

Indonesia declares state of emergency as coronavirus cases increases.

Image
Indonesian leader Joko Widodo declared a state of emergency Tuesday as coronavirus deaths in the world's fourth most populous country jumped again, but he resisted calls for a nationwide lockdown. Widodo's administration has been heavily criticised for not imposing lockdowns in major cities, including the capital Jakarta, a vast megalopolis home to about 30 million people where most of the country's virus deaths have been reported. Indonesia's leader offered few details of the state of emergency beyond calling for stricter social distancing, but announced $1.5 billion in beefed-up social assistance and subsidies for low-income workers. Tens of millions eke out a living on poorly-paid jobs in Southeast Asia's biggest economy. "To overcome the impact of COVID-19, we've chosen the option of large-scale social distancing," Widodo told reporters. "We must learn from the experience in other countries, but we cannot copy them because every co

Italy marked a minute of silence and flew flags at half mast Tuesday to mourn the 11,591 people who have died from the coronavirus pandemic that has drastically altered life in the Mediterranean country. The nation of 60 million people has recorded nearly a third of all fatalities caused by the disease around the world. The day of mourning marks a month in which Italy saw more deaths from a single disaster than at any time since World War II. It was first detected in Italy near the northern city of Milan in late February. The virus "is an injury that hurt the whole country," Rome mayor Virginia Raggi said after observing a minute's silence at noon. "Together, we will get through this," she said at a ceremony held outside Rome's city hall. Vatican City also flew its yellow-and-white flags at half mast in solidarity with the rest of Italy. The Italian government imposed an unprecedented lockdown three weeks ago to help stem the spread o

Manchester United, Leicester city in race for Philippe Coutinho.

Image
Manchester United and Leicester City are both attentive to the situation of Philippe Coutinho at Barcelona, say  Diario Sport . It follows a report in  El Mundo Deportivo  that the Brazilian wants to return to the Premier League should he not continue at the Camp Nou. It is said that the playmaker has little interest in returning to Inter or joining Paris Saint-Germain and instead is keen on a move to England. Tottenham are also said to be monitoring the player, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is said to be attracted to the idea of him moving to Old Trafford while Leicester, who may be restricted in funding the deal, are also interested. Bayern Munich – where Coutinho is currently on loan – have an option to buy the Brazil international for €120m at the end of the campaign but multiple reports suggest this will not be exercised. Earlier this month,  Diario Sport  claimed Chelsea are favourites to land the former Liverpool playmaker and indeed have already made an approach. It is s

The towel  Kobe Bryant  famously draped over his shoulders during his "Mamba Out" speech in 2016 just netted somebody a small fortune ... it sold for over $30K at an auction!! You'll recall ... just minutes after the final buzzer sounded on Kobe's last game in the NBA on April 13, 2016 -- the Mamba grabbed a Body Armor towel and a mic and delivered a powerful speech. He reflected on his L.A. career, thanked fans, and expressed gratitude for  Vanessa ,  Gianna  and the rest of his family for giving him the opportunity to hoop for the Lakers for 20 years. Kobe famously ended the speech by saying "Mamba Out" ... and as he walked off the floor -- a lucky fan was able to nab the towel off his shoulders. Turns out ... that was a VERY lucrative move -- because it not only fetched $8,000 at an  auction in 2016  -- it sold again for $33,077.16 at a different auction Sunday. Iconic Auctions  president  Jeff Woolf  told  CNN  the winning bidder was none oth

He added, "It is completely unrealistic to imagine that with the travel restrictions that we currently have an international tennis tournament where hundreds of thousands of people from all over the world would travel. That is unthinkable." Wimbledon -- one of the biggest sporting events in the world -- was set to begin on June 29 in England. But, with the coronavirus pandemic in full swing, it's obvious it would be impossible to pull off. The last time Wimbledon was canceled? You guessed i
