Nigeria recorded 241 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday June 2. The new cases were confirmed by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control, NCDC. 416 new cases of coronavirus reported in Nigeria.

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control,  NCDC, has announced that 416 new cases of COVID-19 have been across different states of the federation on Monday, June 1. Nigeria has now recorded a total of 10,578 cases of COVID-19, with 3,122 discharged and a reported 299 deaths. State by State breakdown of the new cases are as follows. Lagos-192 Edo-41 Rivers-33 Kaduna-30 Kwara-23 Nasarawa-18 Borno-17 FCT-14 Oyo-10 Katsina-7 Abia-5 Delta-5 Adamawa-4 Kano-4 Imo-3 Ondo-3 Benue-2 Bauchi-2 Ogun-2 Niger-1 Nigerians are advised to continue to adhere to safety precautions stipulated by the NCDC and WHO, so as to reduce the spread of the deadly bug.

Ban on Religious gatherings lifted by the Federal Government.

Ban on religious gatherings in Nigeria has been lifted. The Federal government through the secretary to the government and the Chairman of the presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, made the announcement at the daily media briefing on Monday June 1, in Abuja. “The PTF submitted its recommendations and the PRESIDENT has approved the following for implementation over the next four weeks spanning 2nd – 29th June, 2020, subject to review-: “Cautious advance into the Second Phase of the national response to COVID-19; application of science and data to guide the targeting of areas of on-going high transmission of COVID-19 in the country; “Mobilisation of all resources at State and Local Government levels to create public awareness on COVID 19 and improve compliance with non-pharmaceutical interventions within communities; sustenance of key non-pharmaceutical interventions that would apply nationwide and include: ban of gatherings of more than 20 people outside

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control, NCDC, has announced that on Wednesday May 20, that 284 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in different states of the country. Making the announcement on their Official Twitter account, the NCDC, confirmed that the total cases of the deadly bug has now reached 6,677, with a reported 1,840 discharged, as well as 200 deaths.
