Brazil has reported 32,091 new cases of coronavirus on Tuesday June 9. The South American country has now seen over 30,000 new cases in a 24-hour period for the fourth time  since the outbreak began. Brazil has now reported a total of 739,503 infections with 38,406 fatalities, according to it's Health Ministry.

The nation registered 28,936 additional cases of the novel coronavirus, the ministry said, and 1,262 deaths. There are now 555,383 total confirmed coronavirus cases in Brazil and 31,199 coronavirus deaths. The fresh record comes as some Brazilian leaders, including right-wing President Jair Bolsonaro, continue to belittle the virus, warning that the economic fallout from quarantine measures will be worse than the virus itself. “We lament all deaths, but it’s everyone’s destiny,” Bolsonaro said in front of the presidential residence in Brasilia earlier on Tuesday. The White House on Sunday said that, the United States of America has sent 2 million doses of antimalarial drug hydroxychloroquine to Brazil to help it's battle against the novel coronavirus. The Us and Brazilian government said that the drug will be used preventatively to protect Brazil's nurses, doctors and Health care professionals against the virus as well as a therapeutic to treat Brazilians who become infected. Trump has earlier said that he takes daily doses of hydroxychloroquine, despite it unproven efficacy against the virus. "The United States Government has delivered two million doses of hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) to the people of Brazil", a statement issued by the US and Brazil read.

The surge in the number of new cases of the novel coronavirus continues daily in Brazil. Latest report has it that the South American nation recorded 14,919 new cases of the virus, with 816 new deaths related to the virus. Brazil has now recorded 233,142 cases with 15,633 deaths.

Brazil's death toll from COVID-19 has risen to 9,897 with 751 new deaths reported in the last 24 hours, the country's Ministry of Health said on Friday. Meanwhile, the number of COVID-19 cases reached 145,328 with 10,222 new cases registered in the last 24 hours. The state of Sao Paulo, the most populous state in the country, has been hit the hardest by COVID-19, with 3,416 deaths and 41,830 confirmed cases, followed by Rio de Janeiro with 1,503 deaths and 15,741 cases, and Ceara with 966 deaths and 14,956 cases.
