US delivers 2 million doses of hydroxychloroquine to Brazil to help fight coronavirus.



The White House on Sunday said that, the United States of America has sent 2 million doses of antimalarial drug hydroxychloroquine to Brazil to help it's battle against the novel coronavirus.


The Us and Brazilian government said that the drug will be used preventatively to protect Brazil's nurses, doctors and Health care professionals against the virus as well as a therapeutic to treat Brazilians who become infected.


Trump has earlier said that he takes daily doses of hydroxychloroquine, despite it unproven efficacy against the virus.


"The United States Government has delivered two million doses of hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) to the people of Brazil", a statement issued by the US and Brazil read.
