Donald Trump Jr suspended from Twitter after sharing video of doctors talking about coronavirus and hydroxychloroquine.
Twitter said the president’s son was punished for violating its terms of use that bar users from spreading false medical advice about the pandemic.
An ally of Trump Jr. framed the suspension as an effort by Twitter to silence alternate view points.
“Big Tech is the biggest threat to free expression in America today & they’re continuing to engage in open election interference — full stop,” wrote Republican strategist Andrew Surabian.
Trump Jr. posted a video posted by Stella Immanuel, a Houston physician and evangelical Christian, who touts hydroxychloroquine as a cure for coronavirus, a claim debunked by medical studies.
In other posts, Immanuel has discussed the supposed health affects of alien DNA and sex with witches and demons.
