Former Mayor of Detroit to be released from prison after serving only seven years of a 28-year sentence.
Kilpatrick has just served only seven years of a 28-year sentence.
The purported release comes after five inmates died as a result of coronavirus in the prison where the Former Mayor was held.
Kilpatrick is expected to go through a quarantine period before entering home confinement in June.
In 2013, Kilpatrick was indicted on 24 felony counts, including racketeering, mail fraud and wire fraud, following investigations by federal authorities.
