China to play World Cup qualifiers in Thailand
The Chinese football association has disclosed on Friday that China will play their World cup qualifiers against Maldives and Guam in Thailand behind closed doors because of Coronavirus.
This is seen as the latest disruption to sport in china which is the epicenter of the dreaded coronavirus that has killed more than 2200 people in the country and also raised a global alarm.
On March 26 China will play the Maldives and then take on Guam on March 31 at the Chang Arena in Buriram.
The Thai government asked that both ties be played behind closed door because of coronavirus, the CFA said.
China are in danger of missing the 2022 World cup in Qatar as they are placed second in the qualifying Group A, eight place behind leaders Syria.
