North Korea leader Kim Jong-Un reportedly in Coma.

Image
North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un is once again on his death bed ... that is, if you buy what some South Korean officials are saying about his mysterious health status. Chang Song-min -- a former aide to the late S. Korean President Kim Dae-jung -- recently told South Korean media that, based on intel he'd received, he assessed  Kim to be in a coma, but not entirely deceased quite yet. He went on to say, "A complete succession structure has not been formed, so Kim Yo-jong is being brought to the fore as the vacuum cannot be maintained for a prolonged period." There might be something to this, because N. Korea's own National Intelligence Service said that although Kim would still "exert absolute power," he would gradually begin to transfer authority to his younger sister, Kim Yo-jong, to "ease stress." -TMZ

The announcement came after days of White House officials suggesting there were politically motivated delays by the Food and Drug Administration in approving a vaccine and therapeutics for the disease that has upended Trump’s reelection. On the eve of the Republican National Convention, Trump put himself at the center of the FDA's announcement of the authorization — it makes it easier for some patients to obtain the treatment — in a news conference Sunday evening. The blood plasma, taken from patients who have recovered from the coronavirus and rich in antibodies, may provide benefits to those battling with the disease. Image
More than a month after she was shot in the feet after a party in the Hollywood Hills, Megan Thee Stallion said for the first time Thursday night that fellow hip-hop star Tory Lanez was the person who pulled the trigger. “Yes ... Tory shot me. You shot me and you got your publicist and people to these blogs lying," the 25-year-old rapper, whose legal name is Megan Pete, said angrily in an Instagram Live video. "Stop lying!” Representatives for Lanez, a 28-year-old rapper and singer whose legal name is Daystar Peterson, did not respond to requests for comment late Thursday night, and have not responded to several requests for comment from The Associated Press. Pete said she did not tell Los Angeles police who came to the scene on July 12 about the shooting because she was afraid of the legal repercussions and afraid for her safety. “I didn’t tell the police nothing because I didn’t want us to get in no more trouble,” she says in the video.

Over 380,000 TikTok videos removed for violating hate speech policy

Image
TikTok has removed more than 380,000 videos in the US for violating its hate speech policy so far this year, the short-form video app said Thursday. The app, owned by China’s ByteDance, also said it banned more than 1,300 accounts for posting hateful content. TikTok said in a blog post that it had acted on content such as race-based harassment and that it also had a zero-tolerance policy on organized hate groups and on content that denied “violent tragedies” like the Holocaust or slavery. The app, which is hugely popular among teenagers, is best known for dance and lip-syncing routines and viral challenges, but a review by the Anti-Defamation League earlier this month said that the platform was being used to spread white supremacist and anti-Semitic hate speech. TikTok, which has been under scrutiny over its content moderation practices, in March named the initial members of a content advisory council, to give advice on its policies and evaluate the company’s actions.
