Woodberry sick after just nine days in prison.

Recently arrested internet fraudster Woodberry, who was arrested alongside Hushpupi has reportedly fallen ill after just nine days at the  Moshannon federal prison Pennsylvania, United States. According to Investigative journalist Dr Kemi Olunloyo, Hushpupi and Woodberry have  spent nine days at the Pennsylvania prison, although it is still rumored that they are still in Dubai. Woodberry is currently receiving treatment. Both Hushpupi and Woodberry along with other gang members were arrested for fraud related crime by the FBI.

Manchester United will have a huge mountain to climb as they take on Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley. The Red devils needed a Harry Maguire extra time goal to beat 10-man Norwich City at Carrow Road after playing out a 1-1 draw. Chelsea booked their place in the semi-finals after beating Leicester City away by a lone goal scores by Ross Barkley in the 63rd minutes. Reacting to his triumph Philippe said, " We're happy in Le Havre, we will celebrate this victory." Nigeria has now recorded over 24,000 cases of coronavirus with the lastest data released by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control, NCDC. Nigeria on Saturday June 27, recorded 779 new cases to take the total cases in the country to 24,077, with 8,625 discharged and 558 fatalities.

72-year-old Woman attacked and killed by her own Pit bulls.

Two pit bulls killed their owner Thursday after attacking the 72-year-old woman in her own home in southeast Louisiana. Deputies with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office were called to the scene in Mandeville just after 2 p.m. and found the animals still biting the victim as she bled on the ground, authorities said. As they approached the woman, the dogs turned their attention toward the deputies and began attacking them, forcing the officers to fire their guns, according to  a news release . One of the pit bulls was killed at the scene while the other fled the property. Deputies said they provided first aid to the victim until an ambulance arrived, but she was pronounced dead at a hospital hours later. The second dog, who was found in the afternoon outside a nearby home, attacked the officers again and was also killed, authorities said. Sequel to a tanker accident that claimed two lives on Kara bridge, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, on Sunday, the Federal Ministry of Works has said the road will be shut for integrity tests. A letter addressed to the Lagos State Government and signed by the Deputy Director, Highways, Federal Ministry of Works, K.Y. Ibrahim, solicited the support of the state for the success of the job. Ibrahim said the contractor handling that section of the expressway requested that the bridge be shut from Friday to Sunday in order to ascertain the bridge’s “serviceability state after the fire incident”. “We now request the support of the Lagos State Government in terms of handling the expected high traffic volume that may be generated along the axis during the work and also to help evacuate the wreckage of the accident still on site,” the letter said. - The Punch

Netflix CEO Reed Hastings has pledged $120 million to historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) in the wake of the Black Lives Matter protests against systemic racism. The 59-year-old and his wife Patty Quillin have donated the funds to the United Negro College Fund and two colleges based in Atlanta - Spelman College and Morehouse College. At least five people have been confirmed injured as a 5.4 magnitude earthquake struck the town of Ozalp, in Van province, near Turkey’s border with Iran at a depth of 4.3 miles, Turkey’s Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency said. The governor of Van, Mehmet Emin Bilmez, said the quake caused “moderate” or “strong” damage to homes in some 15 neighbourhoods in Ozalp as well as in a dozen nearby villages.

594 new cases of coronavirus reported in Nigeria.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, has confirmed and announced that 594 new cases of the deadly bug have been reported across different states in the country. The new cases now mean that Nigeria has now recorded over 22,000 positive cases of COVID-19. Lagos State and Delta State recorded the highest daily number with 159 and 106 respectively, according to data released by the NCDC.
